Former 60 minute makeover host Michelle Watt aged at just 38, sadly took her own life. But what makes this tragic loss even worse is what drove Michelle to take such drastic action.
After experiencing headaches, Michelle was referred to hospital and underwent a spinal procedure involving the insertion of a needle into the spine. This was merely to ‘test’ for problems that could have been causing the original headaches, but left Michelle in excruciating and unbearable pain for the remainder of her short life.
Her grieving father, boxing legend Jim Watt, reported this sad and devastating news to the The Scottish Sun newspaper.
Unfortunately, Jim is part of a very small percentage of people, that are bold enough to come forward and tell their sad story. Each one involving a spinal procedure that has once again been unsuccessful and led to more misery for the patient and ultimately their family and loved ones.
Would it not be far better, if before any spinal procedure were undertaken, the patient was given all the statistics. Knowing how successful or unsuccessful the particular spinal procedure they were about to agree to was, would be more beneficial than being told to sign a disclaimer to safe guard the doctors.
The truth is, spinal procedures are fraught with danger and more often are not 100% successful. In fact, a lot of spinal procedures leave patients worse off with the patient wishing they had not undertaken the procedure in the first place.
Sadly, Jim Watt’s daughter is amongst an all too large percentage of spinal procedures that result in a fatality!
I would urge everyone to explore other avenues before committing to any surgical and irreversible procedures. Alternative therapy combined holistically, is a safer approach to healing and a natural process used outside the mainstream of scientific medicine. When used correctly, good practitioners can achieve fantastic results.
