Pain experienced when eating

Approximately 6 years ago, I started to experience pain when I used to eat certain types of food. This was very rare and it used to last for a few seconds and then disappear. As time went on the problem worsened, the food used to get stuck and I would have to force myself to vomit so the pain would go away. At this point I decided to visit my GP, which was 4 years ago. He said that he thought it was a problem with acidity and prescribed me with the necessary medication. I was 15 years old at the time. I then completed my course of medication and went back to him as the problem was worsening. He then prescribed me with stronger acid medication. I then went half way through the course and decided to visit another doctor. He stated that he didn’t know what the problem was and needed to do a few tests to try and diagnose my illness.

Suffering from a Prolapsed Disc

I am suffering from a Prolapsed Disc. It all started about 5 years back with a backache (on the right side) when I would walk too much or stand a lot. But, once I had rested for a bit, the pain would go away. So I just ignored it. As time passed the pain started increasing and eventually it became unbearable. So I went to the doctors who initially said it was nothing. But after complaining of the back pain and pins and needles down my right leg they sent me for x-ray which showed a slip disc. They advised physiotherapy, but the waiting list was too long so we went privately.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound Therapy

For many of us, when thinking of Ultrasound we typically associate its use with pregnancy and diagnostic imaging. The high frequency sound waves bounce off the bodies internal tissues and create a picture for specialists to analyse.

It is this same acoustical ultrasonic energy that can be harnessed for therapeutic use in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.

Ultrasound Therapy is particularly effective with the following benefits:

  • Deep heating effect

  • Reduced pain

  • Deep heating effect

  • Reduced pain

Ultrasound Therapy is commonly used to treat injuries of the Tendons, Ligaments and Muscles and is of particular benefit in the treatment of Sports Injuries. It works well when used in combination with other treatment therapies to deliver the best results. I will be able to assess your individual requirements and tailor a treatment to your precise requirements.

Ultrasound Therapy is a non-invasive, pain-free modality with little or no sensation felt whilst receiving treatment.

Sciatica Pain Treatment

Sciatica Pain Treatment

Over the years, I’ve had many patients come to me without any back pain, but with excruciating pain in their buttock, thigh or in their leg. Sometimes, they may also report having cramps in their calf muscle, numbness or pins and needles in their buttocks, legs or feet. Other patients talk of a tightness in their hamstrings. They usually express that their back is okay as they have no pain there.

I then explain to them that this is a classic symptom of Sciatic Nerve impingement and that it’s a referral condition due to displaced vertebrae in their lower back.

The Sciatic Nerve is a large nerve that runs down the lower lumbar (lower back), buttock and leg (as seen in the illustration).

Sciatica Pain

What exactly is Sciatica

The condition were refer to as Sciatica is any form of pain that is caused by the irritation or compression of the Sciatic Nerve.

A displaced vertebrae in the lumbar (lower back) can cause the intervertebral disc to bulge. It can then impinge on the Sciatic Nerve causing pain in the lower back, buttocks and legs. The pain in the leg can run down the back, side or even front of the leg and can often cause pain in the top or on the side of the foot. Numbness in parts of the foot and toes along with a pins and needles sensation is also fairly common in those suffering with Sciatica.

Other symptoms of Sciatica can be a hernia like sensation or a feeling often more associated with groin strain. Patients can be experiencing hip or lower abdominal pain and be having problems with the control of their bladder or bowel movements.

If any of this sounds like you, there is no need to continue suffering like this. The good news is that I have been using my unique treatment programme for many years and have achieved what my patients call amazing results – see their testimonials.
